I’m sad to say goodbye to The Killing and Nurse Jackie. I’m glad they’re both returning next season. Phew. Not happy about the long wait. Both shows have excellent writing and I’ll miss them during the hiatus.
Good news: Damages with Glenn Close as the ruthless lawyer returns. Here’s the news on that. Rose Byrne will be back and John Goodman is joining. He’s playing a scary, corrupt military contractor. Damages premieres on Wednesday, July 13 on DirecTV. I know I can’t wait! Here’s what TV Guide had to say:
“Season 4 marks the Emmy-nominated show’s move from FX to DirecTV. In July, DirecTV announced it would team with Sony Pictures Television to keep the series alive for at least two more seasons, translating to 20 episodes. DirecTV also acquired the rights to air repeats of Seasons 1 through 3.”
Showtime is being vague about Dexter‘s return. They say, “Dexter will return for an all-new 6th season in 2011.” Hmmmm, wonder when the heck that will be. I miss Dexter when he’s not around. Here’s a synopsis from Showtime:
“Dexter Morgan spent Season 5 atoning for the death of his wife Rita. He committed to being a part of her children’s lives, and entered into a deep, passionate relationship with Lumen, unlike anything he’d ever had before. But Dexter’s need to kill overpowers his desire for human connection. And now that one person knows the truth about him, and a few others are close, how much longer will America’s favorite serial killer be able to keep his dark side a secret?”
