PANELISTS:
Prof. Sree Sreenivasan, Columbia Journalism School Dean of Student Affairs and contributing editor, DNAinfo.com. A former technology reporter for WABC-TV and WNBC-TV in NYC, he’s co-founder of the South Asian Journalists Association. He was named one of AdAge’s 25 media people to follow on Twitter and was one of 22 professors named to the “Top 100 Twitterers in Academia” by OnlineSchools.org.
Sandeep Junnarkar; associate professor of interactive media for Columbia Journalism School, a former New York bureau chief of CNET News.com and a creators of the online edition of The New York Times. He’s led discussions on social media and online journalism for The Council20of Foreign Relations and the Online News Association. His specialization is using social networks to building your individual brand.
David Vinjamuri; founder and president of ThirdWay Brand Trainers and adjunct instructor of new media at New York University. He’s editor of the ThirdWay Advertising blog and reviews advertising for BrandWeek magazine. His book is Accidental Branding: How Ordinary People Build Extraordinary Brands. He focuses on separating useful tools from passing fads in new media.
Ann Monroe, ASJA; experienced freelance writer who has written for magazines and websites including The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Personal Finance, Plenty, MSN, National Geographic Green Guide and Edible Manhattan. She uses social networking tools extensively as a reporting tool as well as to get attention for her work.
