In 1964, Ken Kesey, author of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and thirteen “Merry Pranksters” painted a bus in frenzied Day-Glo, named it “Furthur” and took off on an LSD-fueled road trip. Now 10 years after Kesey’s death, filmmakers Alison Ellwood and Alex Gibney have captured it all in a new movie, Magic Trip, opening in theaters August 12.
